US NHTSA to probe LG Energy Solution over recent EV battery recalls

NHTSA’s action seeks to notify other automakers that could have defective batteries in their vehicles from LGES and ensure any safety recalls are conducted

US auto safety agency National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into the South Korea’s LG Energy Solution's high-voltage EV batteries after internal failures in these batteries were reported to have caught fire in several vehicles, risking lives of the passengers, a report filed by The Detriot News on 5 April 2022 said.
