India's Tata Group plans USD300 million unit to assemble semiconductors


The factory is set to open later next year and will employ up to 4,000 people.

According to an Economic Times press release dated 26 November, India's Tata group is in talks with three states to invest up to USD300 million in establishing a semiconductor assembly and test unit, according to two sources familiar with the matter, as part of the conglomerate's push into high-tech manufacturing.
