Nippon Steel sues Toyota and Baosteel over electrical steel sheet patent infringement

The electrical steel sheet technology was allegedly used in the manufacturing of Toyota’s electric vehicle motors.

Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel announced via press release on 14th October that it had filed lawsuits seeking compensatory damages before Tokyo District Court against Chinese steelmaker Baosteel and Japanese OEM Toyota alleging their infringement of Nippon’s patent relating to non-oriented electrical steel sheets.
