Velodyne Lidar calls for action to improve pedestrian safety

New Velodyne white paper published by SAE International shows how advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be improved to reduce nighttime dangers to pedestrians

According to a Business Wire press release dated September 15th, Velodyne Lidar announced a white paper written by Velodyne experts and published by SAE International that calls for independent performance testing of driver assistance systems to be expanded to include dark, nighttime scenarios, as more than 75% of pedestrian fatalities occur in low-to-no light conditions.
