Prime Minister Boris Johnson inaugurates UK Battery Industrialisation Centre in Coventry


The facility supports UK industry with development of battery technologies

Prime Minister Boris Johnson formally opened the 18,500 square metre UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) on 15 July during a visit to the UK City of Culture, Coventry, according to a press release. The GBP130-million (about USD179 million) national battery manufacturing development facility has been developed to support UK industry with development of battery technologies for future electrification.
