In the year 2020, the automotive semiconductor industry saw a series of unprecedented challenges that all started with the COVID-19 pandemic. Firstly, the decline in vehicle sales caused automakers to shut down production plants; then, suppliers canceled chip manufacturing orders, which later resulted in supply chain disruption.
