AutotechInsight Analysis Monthly

With rising popularity of higher range EVs, OEMs are looking for inverter technology that enables better performance without adding to the cost or complexity of electrified vehicles’ powertrain architecture

In terms of consumer demand, electric vehicles (EVs) are still far away from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. There is a constant and increasing push from automakers, suppliers, and technology companies to make EVs more efficient on performance and range to make them a viable alternative to ICE vehicles. In this endeavor, most of the attention has been on the improvements in battery and motor technology. However, in the background, a lot of R&D is happening to improve a few other critical components, such as inverters.
