Circular Economy

The latest automotive industry trends such as connectivity and autonomous vehicle operation will drive major changes in instrument panel design and manufacturing processes

Over the years, the role of an instrument panel (IP), or a dashboard, in the vehicle cockpit has evolved significantly. Apart from technology integration, IPs also supplement the overall aesthetic value of the cabin. In modern vehicles, an IP acts like a place holder for various components and systems that make a cockpit module. This includes instrument clusters; multimedia systems; switches and trim strips; wire harnesses; steering columns; front passenger airbags; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units.
