AutotechInsight Analysis Monthly

The powder metallurgy (PM) industry is bracing for impact as the advent of electronic vehicles (EVs) is expected to take away the biggest application area for PM in the automotive industry. To stay relevant in the automotive industry, the PM industry would need to advance its material technology and manufacturing processes to answer automakers’ call for lightweighting solutions, and deliver solutions for other application areas of a vehicle.

PM components have been an integral part of the automotive industry for decades now, playing a major role in mass-scale manufacturing of complex and lightweight components.
