Apart from mainland China, Japan and South Korea are also expected to record strong demand for sunroof systems through 2025

Sunroofs are a standard feature in premium vehicles, but lately automakers have started fitting sunroofs in more affordable vehicle segments to make their products distinct. Sunroofs are either fixed or electrically operated (power sunroof). In terms of size, sunroofs can be broadly categorized as conventional or panoramic. A conventional sunroof, also referred to as inner conventional, is a single panel above the driver seat. A panoramic sunroof is larger in size and often covers the majority of a vehicle’s roof. Panoramic sunroofs can be moving or fixed. The panoramic moving sunroofs are further classified as panoramic full glass (full covering and full opening), panoramic tilt (electric tilt and roll shade combination) and panoramic floating (one section opens on top of/below the other).
