COVID-19 pandemic: GM shares production process for medical face masks with suppliers


US automaker has commenced production of medical masks at its once-idled Warren Transmission Plant in Michigan

GM is encouraging its suppliers to assist in ramping up the production of medical face masks for healthcare professionals fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, CNBC reported on 5 April. The automaker has shared its step-by-step process to produce these masks with its around 600 suppliers. These suppliers have also received GM’s detailed specifications on materials, equipment and processes to ramp up their own production lines.
