COVID-19 pandemic: Renault halts production in South America


French automaker will resume production activities at its South American sites as soon as conditions permit

Renault Group has suspended manufacturing operations at its plants in South America starting from 26 March to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the French automaker said in a press release on 24 March. The production suspension is expected to impact the company’s 9,000 employees spread over seven sites in Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, and Chile.
