COVID-19 pandemic: UAW, GM, Ford, FCA form task force to protect manufacturing and warehouse workers


New task force will coordinate actions taken by three automakers to prevent spread of the COVID-19 pandemic

GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) have teamed up with the United Auto Workers (UAW) to set up a coronavirus task force to implement enhanced protections for manufacturing and warehouse workers working at all three automakers, Ford said in a press release on 15 March. The taskforce will be led by GM’s chairman and CEO Mary Barra, Ford’s executive chairman Bill Ford and president CEO Jim Hackett, and FCA’s CEO Michael Manley as well as by UAW president Rory Gamble.
