Waymo raises USD2.25 billion from external investors

The company will invest its funds in people, technology, and operations

Waymo, a self-driving car subsidiary of Alphabet has raised USD2.25 billion in its first external financing round, the company said in blog on its website on 2 March. The financing round was led by Silver Lake, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Mubadala Investment Company. Apart from these lead investors, Magna International, Andreessen Horowitz, AutoNation, and Alphabet also participated in the financing round.
