Draper is working to the object detection range of its new lidar sensor to 100 meters

Draper Laboratory has developed a high-resolution, solid-state lidar sensor that can image objects at 50 meters, the company said in a press release. The company’s lidar uses micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) optical switches for beamsteering. Draper is currently working to double the object detection range of its new lidar sensor to 100 meters.
