Automotive industry’s focus to offer more efficient HMIs to deliver an enhanced experience, both inside and outside a vehicle, is expected to further grow in 2020 and beyond

The automotive user interfaces market, once comprising mainly buttons and knobs, has now expanded to include touchscreen displays, touchpads, haptic feedback, gesture recognition, speech recognition and many more. In 2019, automakers offered more models with center stack displays and head-up displays, more responsive haptic feedback, more efficient gesture recognition and smart digital assistants. Some notable trends in the automotive user interface market that continued during the year include strong growth in fitment of head-up displays and shift towards more responsive capacitive displays and digital instrument clusters.
