Digital instrument clusters to see robust growth

Analysis
Technology Trends

Seen mainly in premium cars, the technology is now making inroads into more affordable, high-volume vehicle segments

Instrument clusters could be either analog, digital or hybrid, a combination of both. Analog instrument clusters, which are the oldest form of instrument clusters, features a plastic housing that contains mechanical gauges and indicator lights driven by stepper motor. It is usually without an active-matrix (or TFT) display, although segmented LCDs are sometime present in an analog cluster. Low-cost vehicles usually come equipped with analog instrument clusters.
