Company will offer affected employ relocation opportunity or pay transition to those who do not want to relocate

Waymo is closing its operations in Austin, Texas, United States, CNBC reported on 8 November. The closure is expected to affect about 10 employees. Waymo will offer the affected employees an opportunity to relocate either to Detroit, Michigan, where it operates a production center or to Phoenix, Arizona where it operates self-driving ride-hailing service. The company will provide transition pay to the affected employees who do not plan to relocate at either of these two facilities.
