Continental develops new 77GHz radar sensor for precise detection of vehicle surroundings

New high-resolution radar sensor will support ADAS functions like right-turn assist and emergency steer assist

Continental has developed a new short-range radar that enables more precise detection of vehicle surroundings, the Germany-based automotive supplier said in a press release on 25 June. The new radar is based on 77GHz technology, instead of 24 GHz technology used up to now, enabling detection of vehicle surrounding at higher resolution and with greater accuracy.
