Viva Technology (VivaTech) 2019—An overview
The Viva Technology show is a platform for corporations, start-ups, government representatives, and world’s innovators aiming to foster relationships among them and work together in technology and digital domains
IHS Markit’s analytical spotlight this month is on the fourth edition of the VivaTech show held in Paris, France (16–18 May). Similar to the CES in Las Vegas and MWC in Barcelona, the Viva Technology show is a go-to event for technology innovation, with a strong focus on services and industry digitalization, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, blockchain, quantum computing, connected healthcare, and mobility. Members of the French government and international politicians attended the VivaTech. In total, representatives from 21 countries and territories presented their start-up ecosystems, 13,000 start-ups showcased and pitched, and 3300 investors and top innovation leaders attended the VivaTech. The automotive industry and new mobility services were very much put in evidence, with innovations from key market players.
