Standardizing ADAS Packages

AutotechInsight Analysis Monthly

Increasing focus on crash avoidance leading towards standardization of ADAS packages.

The automotive ecosystem has undergone a paradigm shift in recent years as crash-worthiness is superseded by crash avoidance. One major element of this trend is the wider availability and increasing adoption of active safety systems in passenger vehicles. The growing demand of advanced driver assistance systems is fueled by rising awareness of occupant safety, tightening governmental regulations, and technological advancements—both by enhancing automation of the car but also by adding to driver distraction with other complex features and functions. In response to these trends, automotive OEMs and solution providers are continually adding more advanced crash avoidance on top of high standards for crash-worthiness.
