Not only for the vehicle occupants, there have been developments going on to protect human lives coming in direct contact with the vehicles. As more and more vehicles take on the roads globally with every passing second, the requirement to improve safety not only for vehicle occupants but also for pedestrians has become the need of the hour. Despite regulators’ efforts to enforce stricter deployment of safety features in vehicles, around 1.25 million people are killed each year in road crashes as of February 2018, according to World Health Organization road traffic injuries statistics, and up to 50 million suffer a variety of injuries.
