Apple expands self-driving car fleet in California

Company has doubled its fleet size to 55 vehicles, compared with 27 in January this year

Apple has expended its self-driving car fleet in California, according to macReports citing the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The company currently has 55 vehicles registered with the California DMV, compared with just three vehicles last year and 27 vehicles in January this year. With 55 self-driving vehicles, Apple’s self-driving fleet is second only to GM’s Cruise, which has 104 vehicles. Apple’s test fleet is bigger than Waymo, which currently has 51 vehicles registered with California DMV.
