Civil Maps migrates vehicular cognition stack to ‘Arm’ family of processors

Arm-powered HD maps and localization solution by Civil Maps will deliver major performance gains by reducing complexity, costs, in-car real estate requirement, and power consumption

Civil Maps has migrated its edge-based high-definition (HD) mapping and localization solutions to Arm family of processors, the company said in a press release last week. The migration by Civil Maps marks a major shift in which companies working on self-driving vehicles can leverage an Arm system of chip (SOC) with the mapping company’s embedded software for enabling vehicles to navigate safely and localize on the road.
