Not only is wood making a comeback purely on its ‘visible-appeal’ merits, it also serves as one of the pivotal sustainable materials for use in automotive applications.

If there is one organic material that has withstood the automotive sands of time, it’s the use of wood which has spanned hundreds of years in a variety of applications and continues to do so. In the earlier days of the automotive era, wood played an intrinsic role – completely different from its modern-day usage – responsible for automotive ‘movement’ in the formation of wheels. Moving ahead, wood was actively used in the vehicle chassis, and with advancements in material technology, other strong earth materials replaced wood making its presence exclusive to vehicle interiors.
