5GAA, Audi, Ford and Qualcomm showcase C-V2X direct communications interoperability
Demonstration showcases various scenarios of how C-V2X communication can contribute to road safety
Last week, 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), Audi, Ford and Qualcomm held the first demonstration for cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) direct communication across vehicles from different manufacturers, the association said in a press release on 26 April. The demonstration showcased benefits of using C-V2X real time direct communications on 5.9 GHz spectrum for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) collision avoidance and improved road safety. The demo vehicles from Audi and Ford, equipped with 9150 C-V2X chipsets from Qualcomm, showcased various scenarios of how C-V2X communications can contribute to road safety.
