New guidelines eliminate the requirement for automakers to seek regulatory approval for launching self-driving technology

The United States Department of Transportation (DOT), along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), has released new federal guidelines for autonomous driving, the DOT said in a press release on 12 September.
