PSA selects Qualcomm processor for next-generation infotainment system
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820A chipset expected to feature in select PSA vehicles beginning in 2020
The PSA Group has entered a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies to integrate the latter’s Snapdragon 820 Automotive (820A) processor in its next-generation vehicles, the automaker announced in a press release on 22 February. Starting in 2020, the Snapdragon 820A processor will begin appearing in select PSA vehicles, enabling infotainment systems deliver music and video streaming and 3-D navigation, supporting multiple high-resolutions displays, and enabling superior GPU performance with intelligent pre-emption and context switching.
