Stephan Presser is vehicle engineering manager for the new Focus, which after being unveiled at the 2014 Geneva motor show is now starting its global roll out in Europe. Presser is responsible for all attributes across the new car, including NVH, driveability and overall functionality. Julian Buckley speaks to him about how suppliers have helped with developing the new Focus and the relationship between Ford and its supply base
You mentioned that three areas of the car have undergone significant redevelopment, the steering, the stability control system and the NVH characteristics. Were these developed in-house or by suppliers?
