“I think as industry volume continues to increase in Mexico, across automotive and all other industries, there is some capacity risk in border flow.”

Corporate developments

William Hurles heads the team responsible for the General Motors Global Supply Chain. In this interview, he speaks with Julian Buckley about sourcing in Mexico, increasing module usage and systems used by GM to evaluate suppliers

Have the suppliers delivering to GM had any problems delivering parts for the recalled models? Our suppliers have done an outstanding job in expeditiously supplying the dealers in support of the recalls with continued support in meeting our current production requirements. We’ve worked very closely with our Customer Care and Aftersales organization (CCA), and with our suppliers to satisfy all recall requirements. I have two dedicated people that liaise with my team to identify risk and potential capacity concerns and resolve those issues. It is the right thing to do for our customers. So, I think it’s going very well.
