How Jaguar Land Rover lightweights material

OEM Purchasing

Dr Mark White, chief engineer, body complete at Jaguar Land Rover Product Development provided some very interesting insights at a recent lightweight materials conference held in London recently and organised by London Business Conferences. Dr White presented a paper on material supply to support the consistent production of high volume light weight vehicles.

Dr White began with a reference to the D7u architecture which now provides the foundation for the Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport and now the long-wheel-base Range Rover and other models yet to be released. It is clear that successful execution of JLR’s product strategy will be dependent on ensuring that they can rely on consistent production volume of lightweight vehicle material.
