How Faurecia and Valeo are developing new systems to save as much as 5% of fuel by harnessing heat created by the powertrain

New and established suppliers are working hard to recover energy from heat in the exhaust stream. Turning wasted heat into energy can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% in some situations, said engineers working on systems at an international conference in France sponsored by the SIA engineering society.
