Once the definition of speed and power, new technologies are seeing forced induction compressors as a way of increasing engine effeciency and reducing their weight

Valeo SA has 15 clients interested in its electric supercharger as a way to improve acceleration at low engine speeds, and by the end of the decade Valeo expects to be selling about 2 million a year. The technology was conceived at Ford Motor Co. more than a decade ago and passed through several owners’ hands before Valeo acquired it in 2011 and brought it to pre-production.
