Looking at the increased volume of electronics in vehicles, how do you think this is going to affect service organisations? That’s an interesting question because as you know electronics either have an infancy failure, they last a lifetime, or they have sporadic and unpredictable behaviour. The key for the garages and for us, is the intelligent part of the system, the diagnostics. We need to learn how to charge customers for diagnostics. We need to convince the consumer that diagnostics is part of what they’re receiving, even though it's invisible to them. What they don't understand, is that today the car window might be causing a problem with the fuel pump; and that in order to find that problem you need to diagnose the whole electrical system and electronics.
