Richard Dixon is a Senior Principal Analyst for automotive architectures and sensors at IHS Markit and responsible for E/E & Semiconductor forecasts on engine and transmission ECUs, central body controller module and wire harness. He has authored more than 25 consulting and market research studies and is a recognized expert on passenger car sensors.
His responsibilities include the study of automotive architectures and forecasting of market demand for more than 20 types of sensors (MEMS, magnetic, inductive, radar, light, temperature, ceramic...) deployed in more than 100 automotive applications. His most recent sensor research includes vehicle electrification, exhaust and future architectures that result from electrification and automated driving.
Prior to IHS Markit, Richard was a sensor analyst at iSuppli for automotive and industrial sectors. He previously worked as a trade journalist in the semiconductor industry and has five years of technology transfer experience.
Richard graduated from Greenwich University with a degree in materials science and earned a doctorate in semiconductor research from Surrey University. He speaks English and German.
