Jay Hwang is a Senior Analyst at S&P Global Mobility for battery and charging domains. His responsibilities include researching on xEV battery supply chain, battery cell and materials trends, charging infrastructures and writing in-depth analyses.
Prior to joining IHS Markit, Jay worked as a Market Research Analyst for Samsung SDI America, mainly focused on providing vehicle sales forecast & collaboration strategies on xEV customers in North America.
Jay has been dedicated to xEV research since 2014 when he started working as an Equity Research Analyst at CLSA. He continued his research on xEV OEMs, battery supply chain and charging throughout his finance career at sellside equity research, mutual fund and hedge fund before joining Samsung.
He holds an MBA degree in Economics and Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Materials Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology (South Korea) and has 3 years of work experience as an engineer in OLED display.
